<blockquote> ～ </blockquote>

blockquote要素は、その文章が他の情報ソースやコンテンツからの引用であることを示す要素です。blockquote要素はある程度の長さのある文章の引用に使用します。短い文章を引用にはq要素の仕様が推奨されます。明確な規定はありませんが、一段落以上あるような文章はblockquoteを使う方が良いでしょう。

文章の引用を表示する際に、ダブルコーテーションなどで括ったデザインをよく見かけますが、blockquote要素にはダブルコーテーションを付与するような機能はありません。そのような装飾はcssなどで追加します。
